On February 20, 2018, Ray Dominguez founded SMAART Company with a vision that most thought was too ambitious: create a single professional business conglomerate that could handle every back-office need a small business would ever have.
What started as a tax preparation service in South Florida quickly grew as Ray recognized a painful reality\u2014small business owners were juggling multiple providers for accounting, insurance, payroll, financial planning, and compliance. The inefficiency was costing them time, money, and peace of mind.
By 2022, Gustavo Gonzalez joined as Chief Operating Officer, bringing the operational discipline needed to scale the vision. That same year, SMAART became a U.S. Tax Court Practitioner firm and secured a $7M investment to accelerate growth.
The acquisitions of Ribot Business Solutions in August 2023 and a Miami-based tax and bookkeeping firm in September 2023 marked a turning point\u2014SMAART was no longer just growing organically. It was building an empire, one strategic move at a time.

IRS Representations
SMAART earns its designation as an IRS Representations firm, allowing the team to represent clients before the IRS in audits, collections, and appeals—adding a critical layer of protection for business owners.
Insurance Services
Recognizing that financial planning is incomplete without risk management, SMAART expands into insurance brokerage, offering comprehensive coverage solutions alongside tax and accounting services.
Registered Investment Advisory
The launch of RIA services marks a pivotal milestone. Clients can now access investment management, retirement planning, and wealth-building strategies from the same team that handles their taxes and books.
Strategic Growth
Gustavo Gonzalez joins as Chief Operating Officer, bringing operational excellence to the rapidly growing firm. SMAART also becomes a U.S. Tax Court Practitioner firm and secures a $7M investor to fuel expansion.
Acquisitions & Mergers
SMAART acquires Ribot Business Solutions in August and merges with a Miami-based tax and bookkeeping firm in September, dramatically expanding capacity and geographic reach.
